La resonancia magn\u00e9tica (RM) permite obtener im\u00e1genes detalladas de los tejidos sin utilizar radiaci\u00f3n ionizante. Es una prueba muy \u00fatil cuando est\u00e1 correctamente indicada, pero una imagen por s\u00ed sola no determina necesariamente la causa del dolor.<\/p>\n
Ante dolor de rodilla o de la zona lumbar, el diagn\u00f3stico comienza con una entrevista detallada y una exploraci\u00f3n f\u00edsica completa. En determinados pacientes tambi\u00e9n pueden ser necesarias radiograf\u00edas; en la rodilla suelen realizarse en carga para valorar adecuadamente el espacio articular.<\/p>\n
Con la edad son frecuentes los hallazgos degenerativos en la RM, incluso en personas sin s\u00edntomas. Por ello, interpretar una alteraci\u00f3n sin relacionarla con la exploraci\u00f3n puede llevar a atribuir el dolor a una causa que no es la responsable.<\/p>\n
En la zona lumbar, la RM suele reservarse para s\u00edntomas neurol\u00f3gicos, se\u00f1ales de alarma o dolor que no responde al tratamiento indicado. En la rodilla puede ser \u00fatil cuando la exploraci\u00f3n hace sospechar una lesi\u00f3n concreta o cuando el resultado vaya a cambiar el tratamiento.<\/p>\n
