La artrosis es la enfermedad degenerativa articular m\u00e1s frecuente. El cart\u00edlago que protege las superficies de la articulaci\u00f3n pierde progresivamente grosor y calidad, hasta que en fases avanzadas puede quedar hueso expuesto.<\/p>\n
La edad, la predisposici\u00f3n familiar, lesiones, infecciones, enfermedades inflamatorias, sobrecarga laboral o deportiva y el exceso de peso pueden influir en su desarrollo. Las rodillas, las caderas y los dedos son algunas de las articulaciones afectadas con mayor frecuencia.<\/p>\n
Al principio puede haber chasquidos o molestias despu\u00e9s de una actividad prolongada. M\u00e1s adelante pueden aparecer inflamaci\u00f3n, calor, dolor en reposo o por la noche, p\u00e9rdida de movilidad y deformidad. La entrevista, la exploraci\u00f3n y las radiograf\u00edas permiten valorar el grado de afectaci\u00f3n; una resonancia no siempre es necesaria.<\/p>\n
En fases iniciales se utilizan ejercicio terap\u00e9utico, fisioterapia<\/a>, control del peso, adaptaci\u00f3n de actividad, medicaci\u00f3n e infiltraciones cuando est\u00e1n indicadas. Si el desgaste es avanzado y el tratamiento conservador no resulta suficiente, puede valorarse una artroscopia en casos seleccionados o una pr\u00f3tesis articular<\/a>.<\/p>\n El cart\u00edlago perdido no se regenera de forma espont\u00e1nea, pero un diagn\u00f3stico temprano y un plan individual pueden reducir los s\u00edntomas y mantener la funci\u00f3n.
