Dr Lisa Buddrus, an orthopaedic surgeon from Hamburg, completed medical studies in Hamburg, Germany, and Tauranga, New Zealand. She continued her specialist training in orthopaedic surgery at hospitals in Germany. Alongside conservative treatment of joint and back pain, nerve conditions and soft-tissue problems, her training included arthroscopic, or keyhole, surgery, joint replacement, shoulder surgery and general trauma surgery.
In addition to her orthopaedic training, Dr Buddrus completed further training as a chiropractor and osteopath.
She later moved to the Algarve in Portugal for family reasons and worked in several private clinics. Her work included orthopaedic consultations and treatment, ultrasound-guided intra-articular injections and soft-tissue assessment using ultrasound.
In 2023, Dr Buddrus joined the Clínica Sandalf team, working alongside Dr Alf Neuhaus during conservative consultations and surgical procedures including hip and knee replacements, ankle fusions and other specialist orthopaedic procedures. She also covers for Dr Neuhaus during periods of absence.
