Osteopathy in Benalmádena

Picture of osteopathic mobilization
At Clínica Sandalf in Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena, our osteopaths use manual approaches to assess musculoskeletal symptoms affecting the back, neck, joints and soft tissues.

Luis Illueca and Christie Nicholas both trained in the United Kingdom and bring practical experience in osteopathy and complementary manual approaches. Treatment is planned individually following an assessment.

What osteopathy involves

Osteopathy uses movement, stretching, massage, mobilization and, when appropriate, manipulation of muscles and joints. The aim is to improve mobility and address muscle tension or other mechanical symptoms.

Osteopaths do not prescribe medication or perform surgery. The suitability of any manual technique depends on medical history, symptoms and examination findings.

Symptoms assessed in osteopathy consultations

The service covers back and neck pain, joint stiffness, muscular problems, tissue tightness, arthritis-related symptoms and sports injuries. These symptoms can have different causes, so osteopathy is not suitable for every case and an individual assessment is required.

Clinical coordination at Clínica Sandalf

When clinically appropriate, our osteopaths can coordinate with orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Alf Neuhaus. Clínica Sandalf has digital X-ray and diagnostic ultrasound facilities, which may be used when the medical team considers imaging necessary.
